Programs Offered by AAF Indianapolis AAF Indianapolis is committed to the professional development of its members. Join us for national speakers and a variety of local programming. AAF Indianapolis is also your link to vast educational resources through the American Advertising Federation. Additionally, we connect you with the programming of other providers of relevant and low cost continuing education in the Indianapolis market.

This project calls on the talented art directors, creative directors, and designers of Indianapolis to create Downtown banner designs to help make our Downtown, “Amazingly, Always New” and welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors to Indianapolis.
All finalists will be posted on the Web sites of the Indianapolis Downtown Inc. and the AAF Indianapolis and included on The Banners of Indianapolis Downtown poster. Finalists will be chosen on uniqueness, creativity and individual design merit. Finalists will be recognized individually and/or by company on the poster, Web sites and in news announcements.
Indianapolis Downtown Inc. will print and hang a to-be-determined number of Downtown banners using a final design selected from the design finalists.
Guidelines:
1. The banner size is 30” wide by 78” long with an image area of 30” by 70” allowing for a 4” rod pocket on the top and bottom. 2. The banner should incorporate in some manner the IDI color palette. The primary palette is PMS 632, 634, 382 and 5855 and the secondary color palette includes PMS 253 and 144. 3. The banner must contain the wordmark, “Indianapolis Downtown” which is available to download at the Banners.AAFIndianapolis.com. 4. The banner must feature as a design element some aspect or artistic representation of an iconic downtown image or design element. 5. To enter, please send a low resolution jpeg and rights release to

Rules and judging:
1. Seven judges will select the finalists and designs to be printed and hung. Judges will include the president, vice president of marketing and communications and a board member of Indianapolis Downtown Inc. as well as a representative from the Indianapolis Mayor’s office, the AAF Indianapolis board, the advertising agency of Indianapolis Downtown Inc. and the banner printer. 2. Designs must be received by June 1, 2009. Finalists will be announced on July 6.

. National Speaker Series: Quality top-rated National Speakers will be the pillar of our educational programming this year. Only speakers who have a wide appeal to the entire membership base will be chosen to speak at our quarterly lunches. You'll be sure to want to join us for lunch, learning & networking.

Special Interest Groups:
New to the club this year are our Special Interest Groups, or SIGs. A SIG is a specialized group of people who meet for educational & networking purposes. Groups will meet twice a year for breakfast. Only members in that group are invited to attend the breakfast meeting. All who attend will introduce themselves and then a relevant topic will be discussed. So far, four groups have been formed: Media Buyers, Account Executives, Artists & Sales Reps. We welcome more groups so please contact our chair with recommendations.

Indy Portfolio:
Created to showcase the stregnth of our market's agencies. The Indy Portfolio will include a kick-off event at the Indianapolis Art's Garden. Bowling:
A tried & true annual event for the club. Always fun & well attended. You won't want to miss the action at the Woodland Bowl.

Carb Day:
Our festivities this year will be more social. No breakfast and no hassle trying to get there before 8am and find a place to park. We'll make it convenient for you to enjoy the day with your colleagues and clients.

24-Hours Pro Bono:
It's time for our Industry to give back to our local not-for-profit's. More information about this project will come soon.

Merry Mingle:
This will be our third year for the Mingle. Social by design, it allows our industry to meet during the holidays to enjoy each other's company while supporting an area charity. Charities in the past two years have been Second Helpings & Gleaners Food Bank.

Arts Enhancement Initiative:
A new program series which will allow all parts of our industry to come together for arts themed events. This is your opportunity to learn more about our local arts community. We'll plan group events which encorporate a discount & professional introduction to each program. On the line-up is a gallery walk at the IMA, an IRT production, a Symphony on the Prairie concert & an Indianapolis Opera performance.
